I used to know this girl

Colorful and bubbly she was

Given a chance

She could dance

She became electric

Her moves so terrific

She used to live in my mind

And I didn’t mind

Colorful she was

Rainbow like beautifully dancing in the rain.

I used to know this girl

So seductive when she twirl

She used to move

So sensually to the grove

And she’d tell me a lie

And then show me the proof

Such a wonderful soul

A fragile being

Beautiful indeed

She’s consumed my entire being

And she doesn’t know that

Shy like a toddlers teeth

On the dance floor though

She’s like a freak

I used to know this girl

Given a chance

She could dance

Well now she don’t dance no more

And she doesn’t sing anymore

And the birds don’t sing anymore

And I know it hurts her

And it hurts me more

That she don’t dance no more

And so I don’t even

I used to know this girl

Thick one

A swift one on the dance floor

She was so brave

And I was amazed

Her courage left me dazed

She’d pick me up

And put me back in my place

I used to know this girl

She was so electric

Break dancing she was so robotic

She’d dance to the break of dawn

From evening to the early morn

But she don’t dance no more

And I need to accept it

She don’t sing no more

And the birds don’t sing anymore

And I know it hurts her

And it hurts me more

That she don’t dance no more

And so I don’t even.
